Mauri canoe New Zeland

Australia Nov 4, 2012

Today was our last day at in New Zealand and we finally didsomething which informed us about the mauri culture.  Today we did a ride in a Waka which is aMauri canoe manned by about 20 people. We paddled up a river to a waterfall about the size of Tahquamenonfalls.  We were entertained by severalmauri men in their loin cloths and tattoos. They chanted to help us make way up to the falls.  (Actually they had a motor on the canoe forthe instance that we may need some help which we did.)  We also learned how to puke someone inanother boat or on shore by making gly faces and yelling.  It hat was our lunch and dinner.  Hoping that the cocktail party has some appetizers.  Lookig forward to chilling and doingsome classes in the next few days.
